Well...that's
it done, that's my painting finished. :)
There's
things I like about it and things I wasn't able to fix but I learned a lot from
doing it...including don't spend so much time on one painting you get
bored.
I added
some more gold to the crown and green beads in different arias of her dress, I
couldn't find another colour that worked, and then mostly just pottered around
playing with tiny details.
Since
I've been working on this for so long the gum tape holding it down was a
nightmare to remove and tore up the paper underneath pretty badly but at least
that will all be hidden when I frame it, but it took a few hours to get off.
I then
spent far too long trying to take a photo where the gold shone but the arias of
thick indigo in the background didn't reflect the light, though I still had to
edit the best picture in photoshop to get it to work.
I think
I've found one of the troublesome things about working with metallics though, I
used my flash for this photo which made all the gold glow in one go where in
real life only some arias will shine at one time which makes this end image so
much yellower than it would be in real life.
With so
much of the painting being reflective it probably wouldn't be possible to scan
in but at the same time I'm not sure if I got a good enough photo of it.
So my
next project will be a rainbow forest commission, I'm also currently doing a
little week long black and white photo challenge, I'll post them all up here
when I'm done.
Sorry I
didn't post yesterday, I've been pretty ill.
