I was going as Hel (or Hela) from Norse mythology, the goddess who rules over Helheim (also can be called Hel to keep things simple) the land of the dead.
Hel is Loki's youngest child, her brothers being the wolf Fenrir and the world serpent Jormungand. Her body is half alive and half dead and is known to have a grim expression most of the time, I've not seen it mentioned anywhere but most art also shows her with half white hair (which was a pain to remove after the party.)
If I remember rightly whilst Hel's brothers had been prophesied to be enemies during Ragnarök Hel was only known to be involved but not which side she would be on. However still being a child of the trickster god, and her appearance making the other gods uncomfortable, Odin gave her Helheim and the dead to rule over and judge.
She was also the one who gave Odin his two ravens Huginn and Muninn but considering he gave his eye for knowledge, and that the ravens and the information they gathered were part of the knowledge package, makes me wonder if Hel's carrying around Odin's eyeball now...I'm not sure what happened to it.
Helheim's also pretty interesting, The general idea was that those who died in battle would go to Valhalla or or Fólkvangr to feast and fight as they prepare for Ragnarök. However everyone else, the ill and the old, went to Helheim instead upon death. Where in Valhalla it only mattered how good a fighter you were in Helheim which aria you went to was determined by the life you lead, it getting colder and closer to the land of the frost giants the worse a person you were but having lovely meadows and forests in the middle.
I found this website to be an interesting source of information regarding Hel, not many places say much about her.
Also a couple of years ago I did a drawing of Hel, may as well show it here too:
