I'm rather happy with
this one... She's nothing like my original idea, but she's came out
rather sweet and extremely colourful for me. I actually had quite a
fight between my scanner and Photoshop to show off how vibrant she is
without it looking over saturated.
Originally she was going to be Persephone but her
face turned out too child like for the feel I was going for and since
I liked it, everything else about her changed instead.
For Persephone I had planned a cold sickly colour
scheme but I went the opposite direction for Posy girl: I ended up
penning in the line-art with coloured microns and used a mix of
Phthalo Blue, Permanent Magenta and New Gamboge watercolours for the
rest.
The hardest and one of the most enjoyable parts
for me is always the skin, and I'm really happy with hers this time.
I'm still very much learning how to do warmer skin tones, it's easy
to make them looking splodgy as if she was covered in bruises instead
of just having the natural variant skin has across the face.
